• Account information: Your name and email address, provided when you sign up or sign in via Google or LinkedIn.
• Usage data: The articles you read, like, or save; your topic preferences; and when you last used the service.
• Device information: Browser type and general location data collected automatically when you access the service.

We do not collect payment information — the service is currently free.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and personalise the Content Bite service
• Curate news and generate AI summaries based on your topic preferences
• Send you news briefings and service-related notifications by email
• Improve the service and understand how it is used
• Maintain the security of your account

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Content Bite uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database storage and user authentication. Your account data is stored securely in Supabase.
• Anthropic Claude — AI engine used to generate news summaries and answer questions. Article text from your sources is sent to Anthropic's API for processing.
• Google / LinkedIn OAuth — used for single sign-on. We receive only your name and email from these providers.
• Vercel — hosting and infrastructure provider.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

5. Cookies

We use session cookies solely to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. No cookie consent banner is shown because we only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to function.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days. Anonymised usage data may be retained for analytical purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of email communications from your profile settings

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with industry-standard security practices provided by Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Content Bite is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
